THURROCK
became a focal point for hundreds
of the east of England’s
businessmen and women today at a
landmark seminar at the
prestigious Orsett Hall Hotel.
More than 400 people attended the
Hotel’s Grahame Thomas Pavilion to
hear ‘Dragon’s Den’ business guru
James Caan speak.
The seminar
was organised by Lloyds TSB
Commercial to help customers in
Essex and East London understand
specific issues surrounding
employment including the
development, training and
incentivising of staff members.
Mr Caan
(pictured right speaking to
attendees) delivered a
presentation on how local
businesses can access finance, get
to grips with employment
legislation and take their
business forward as the economy
looks to brighten.
There were
also presentations from local
industry experts regarding topical
employment issues, which are
designed to raise awareness of the
regulation surrounding employment
and HR policies, and the cost and
benefits of expansion from an
employment perspective.
Orsett Hall
General Manager Stephen Lee said
he was delighted Orsett Hall and
Thurrock had been chosen to host
the prestigious event, adding:
“It
was thoroughly rewarding and very
instructive to listen to James Cann and the other experts from
Lloyds TSB and other businesses.“We are
delighted to host this event.
Orsett Hall itself is a beacon for
success and we have enjoyed huge
growth in our business despite the
recent economic problems. I would like
to think that our image and
facilities are associated with the
enterprise and ambition that James
talked about and it has been a
really successful day for us and I
hope for Lloyds TSB and their
guests. I am sure we
will play host to many more
prestigious events like this as
Thurrock continues to grow and
prosper.”
